  Context: I purchased this Eagle Creek gear expecting high durability for travel, but the craftsmanship failed completely after just two times use. The stitching ripped apart along the main seams and the zipper tracks separated under normal use. I am posting this to warn other members of the community about the current drop in quality from this brand and their lack of customer support.

  I reached out to eagle creek for an issue and they immediately said I could ship it to the closest licensed shop to fix. I had to pay for shipping to the place but they paid for the shipping back to me and the fix.

  But honestly, when a product lets me down, I prefer to move on and look for a better alternative rather than giving it a second chance. On top of that, I’m currently traveling as a nomad for the next 6 months in remote areas. Having to manage shipping logistics while on the move and getting it delivered to who-knows-where in the world is really not a user-friendly solution.

  High priced doesn't always mean high quality. But I think the thing to do is contact the company and see if they'll replace it. I personally don't see the point of high priced bags and packing materials. Sure, it's more name brand and that might mean something to someone, but I'll take cheap stuff and see how it holds up. Most of the time it holds up as well as anything else. The $10 Protoge packing cubes I bought at Walmart were great on my last trip. I even used one as a compression cube for a fleece jacket and another as a compression cube for my pillow for the airplane even though they weren't sold to handle that kind of pressure. It's a bag with a zipper. Of course it has it's limits on how much it can compress before it's going to pop a seam, that to me is reason enough to reconsider what you are packing in the first place.

  I've already contacted the company and they can't do anything. When a product doesn't work, you don't want another one of the same kind. I've already tried cheaper bags and the quality wasn't there. I wanted to invest in a good product that would last. Unfortunately, it's not Eagle Creek.

  Eagle Creek got bought out a few years ago, they're a shell of what they were. That said, there's no brand that you can really trust to get products 100% consistent, anyone who claims otherwise is probably representing said company. Especially if you're constantly on the road, I think it's worth doing that inspection regardless of what brand you're getting. I don't like compression cubes because they rely on the zippers to do compression, and if the WRONG zipper fails then the cube stop working at all. I can't tell whether the seam is also overstressed, but the one time I bought compression cubes from Amazon I did not like how they stressed the fabric and returned them because I expected this kind of failure to happen sooner or later.
