Hello, I travel light, for instance next week where I am going on a short business trip for 3 days. I only plan to bring my 18L backpack, but one thing I would very much like to have with me is my running shoes. Yes I can tie them with actual cord and I can get that tight, but I would love a off the shelf solution. Inspiration: DSPTCH Shoe Straps (cant link to shop due to rules on the subreddit) This is sold out in my market and I also dont like that it doesent look like it attaches the shoes in multiple ankering points (to prevent swinging when talking). Does anyone have a good solution for this? Would ideally also have them in a bag, so dirty running shoes dont rub against the backpack. Thank you

假设你的运动鞋比你的工作鞋更笨重，那就穿运动鞋上飞机。说实话，对于3天的商务旅行，我只会打包一个30L的包，不用担心这个问题。

Assuming your sneakers are more bulky than your work-shoes, wear the sneakers on the plane. NGL, for a 3 day business trip I'd just pack a 30L bag and not worry about this.

https://www.dsptch.com/products/fidlock-shoe-straps Ridiculous and out of stock anyway. You can fit shoes in a packing cube or actual shoe bag and strap that on. I avoid strapping stuff to the outside of my bag. Just get an appropriate backpack. You can buy a Cabin Zero 28 for not much more than the cost of the straps.

The price on those is CRAZY! $76 is more than we have paid for any of our backpacks, carry-on suitcases, or underseat bags, except maybe my wife's MotherLoad backpack from eBags a few years ago.

Those shoes straps are gizmos. It is one more useless travel gadget that will take your money and underperform. In addition, it will add weight to your pack. The odds of those shoes getting snagged on something is very high. The correct solution is to take a slightly bigger bag that still fits under seat. Put the smallest shoes in the corners of the bag. Edit: - put the non compressible heels in the corners /edit. Stuff them with socks/undies. Now everything is contained in a single package. It is a smooth backpack so won’t get snagged. Please remember that gear can not save you from poor technique! Strapping things to the outside of your bag is poor technique. It can snag and throws off balance. The bag designers assumed you would be keeping things inside your pack and designed the harness for that. Edit: I store each shoe separately. Storing them together creates wasteful dead space between the shoes. When traveling small you can’t afford significant dead space. I use light vegetable bags for shoe storage.

If you strap them to your backpack, you're just making your bag bigger. Bring the right size bag to begin with.

If you are flying, the gate agent usually won’t let you have dangling shoes outside the bag. Get a shoe bag or shower caps to put your shoes in so they go inside your bag. If the bag has something like a stash pocket or a way to attach them tightly and securely that may work if they won’t fit inside your bag.
