I live in New Zealand and I am planning to travel (hiking, hostels, maybe some camping, backpacker style) in Africa (southern & eastern + ending in Morocco) from November until February/ March Ideally I would actually be doing multiple 4-8 week long WorkAway stints in Africa, so not travelling too often After, I am moving to Norway for 1 year Initially I was thinking of flying back to New Zealand to mostly pick up my winter ski clothing/ extra luggage + all my hiking/ outdoors gear - but that will be costly, to fly back to New Zealand and then back to Europe So now I am thinking of bringing all my luggage: 35L carry-on fjallraven backpack 65L osprey checked in backpack 80L soft shell checked in luggage Is that insane?

    Ship your luggage to Norway. Usually takes a couple of months so that would time well.

    有没有可能把行李寄过去？或者让家人寄给你？可能要几百美元，但还是比飞回NZ便宜得多，而且这样你 hopefully 最多只用带1-2个包在非洲旅行。

    Is it possible to ship your luggage? Or have a family member ship it to you? May cost a few hundred dollars, but still way cheaper than flying back to NZ, and then hopefully you can travel around Africa with only 1-2 bags max.

    对背包客风格来说，这行李也太多了。你打算自己拖这三个包吗？带着180L的装备在青旅和WorkAway地点之间移动，说实话听起来像噩梦 也许在你前往非洲之前，把冬季物品存放在欧洲某个地方。比如储物柜，或者你在Norway有朋友的话放朋友那里。比飞回NZ便宜多了，而且你不会拖着滑雪服穿过Serengeti

    thats a lot of luggage for backpacker style. are you planning to haul all three bags on your own? getting between hostels and workaway spots with 180L of gear sounds like a nightmare honestly maybe store the winter stuff somewhere in europe before you head to africa. like a storage unit or a friend in norway if you know anyone there. way cheaper than flying back to nz and you wont be dragging ski jackets through the serengeti

    Yes, I’ll be alone. That was why I was initially thinking of flying back to New Zealand in between but I reckon flights would easily get close to $2-3,000 just to pick up luggage really How will I get my luggage to Norway/ somewhere in Europe? I’m in New Zealand currently

    Sell your winter gear, buy in Norway. That sounds easier and potentially cheaper than any other solutions posted here.
